In my practice I have been confronting the lack of physical safety for women in life. In particular how society judges women on their appearance and the vulnerability this produces. Our appearance can effect our physical freedom, safety, and how much we are watched by others. Clothing can hold us back because of how society objectifies women.
'No Restrictions' takes my anger at the restrictions faced by women and breaks free from them, rebelling against the social norms. The images of graffiti are from unsafe alleyways. By covering my eyes, ears and mouth I am being restricted. I filled balloons with paint and threw it at the painting to express my frustration.
